Boys Football Match

On Monday 27th November, The Grove Academy played Bushey Manor School at home in the Watford and Hertsmere Schools Sports Partnership boys competition.

The match got underway with The Grove playing some good football scoring an early goal. The Grove continued to attack showing good teamwork by passing and moving the ball, causing problems for the Bushey Manor defence, which resulted in a second goal. The game progressed with The Grove dominating the midfield, leading to a third goal. Just before half-time The Grove scored their fourth goal of the game making the half time score 4-0 to The Grove.

The second half started with Bushey Manor School attacking The Grove’s goal, but there was some great defensive work from The Grove. As the game continued, The Grove lost a bit of their team shape, which the Bushey Manor team took advantage of and they scored a well-deserved goal. Bushey Manor continued to attack scoring a second goal to make the score 4-2. The Grove could have let Bushey Manor back in to the game at this point, but recovered well and started to play some attacking football. Bushey Manor came back strong but with some great defending and goalkeeping from The Grove, the final score remained 4-2 to The Grove.
